Driver arrested after woman struck in Aldi car park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a woman was struck in an Aldi car park and taken to hospital.

The silver BMW hit the 47-year-old woman outside the store in Kirkdale, Liverpool, at about 21:35 BST on Tuesday night, Merseyside Police said.

She suffered a serious injury to her leg and was later released from hospital.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Anfield, was arrested at the scene.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage are being urged to contact police.
