Ilmari Niskanen pleaded guilty to drink-driving near Honiton

An Exeter City footballer has been fined £2,000 and banned from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

Winger Ilmari Niskanen, 27, was charged last week with the offence which happened on the A30 near Honiton on 6 February.

The Finnish international appeared before Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Exeter City Football Club said last week it was treating the matter "with the utmost gravity".
