A man has been accused of supporting Hamas and failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order, police have said.
Mohammad Zahir Khan, of Alum Rock, Birmingham, was arrested on Wednesday by counter-terrorism officers.
Mr Khan was charged on Thursday night with six offences, including supporting a proscribed terrrorist organisation, namely Hamas, between 20 January and 12 February this year, West Midlands Police said.
The 47-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court in London later.
Mr Khan is also charged with failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order by failing to provide information relating to a telephone and use of social media accounts.
He is also accused of failing to notify police of contact details as part of his licence conditions, on three occasions between 2 January and 12 March, and failing to notify police of a change of vehicle.
