A woman in her 40s died following a crash at a crossroads in Staffordshire, police have confirmed, as they urged witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called shortly after 17:00 BST on Friday to a collision at the junction of Hanbury Road and the road towards Tutbury, near Burton-upon-Trent.
Fire crews and paramedics also attended the scene, where a blue Volkswagen Polo and yellow Kia Picanto had collided.
The woman was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. A man and a second woman taken to hospital by ambulance have since been discharged.
Staffordshire Police said officers were keen to speak to the driver of a red "Honda Jazz-type vehicle" which was not involved in the crash, but had been travelling along Hanbury Road towards Anslow Gate.
They asked anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.
