A cyclist has died after being involved in a crash with a grey Mercedes.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Aust, near Bristol, at 12:36 BST on Sunday. The force confirmed the cyclist died at the scene of the Aust Road collision.

A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while over the prescribed limit for drugs. He was later released under investigation, police said.

Anybody who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage that could help officers has been urged to contact the force.

The road was closed while investigators were at the scene and was reopened at 20:30 on Sunday, police said.
