The Britannia Adelphi Hotel hopes to start hosting boxing and wrestling matches

  • Published

Boxing and wrestling matches could soon be held at one of the North West's best-known hotels.

Owners of the Britannia Adelphi, on Ranelagh Street in Liverpool, have applied to vary the terms of the hotel's licence so that it can add boxing and wrestling to the list of "indoor sporting events" it currently hosts.

According to the licence application, the Adelphi would be able to host matches every day from 12:00 to 02:00, and until midnight on Sundays.

Liverpool City Council will likely announce its decision on the application next year, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
