Five taken to hospital after A92 crash

Five people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Aberdeenshire.

The two-car collision happened on the A92 north of Johnshaven, shortly before 08:00.

Police said a woman who was driving one of the vehicles and her two teenage rear seat passengers were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The female front seat passenger and a woman who was driving the second vehicle were both taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Officers said the road was closed in both directions as a result of the accident and advised motorists to use an alternative route.
