Thousands will be at Aintree Racecourse later for one of the biggest days in Liverpool's calendar.

And while fans will be glued to the racing, at least as much attention will be paid to what everyone is wearing.

From fascinators to frocks, it's a day for the people of Liverpool (and those from much further afield) to dress up and put their best (high-heeled) foot forward.

In short - to see and be seen.

Fashions may have changed enormously over the years, but the sense of excitement and fun remains the same every year.
