Rick Astley latest to announce Ludlow Castle gig

Rick Astley is still performing, 37 years after his big hit, Never Gonna Give You Up

Rick Astley has become the seventh act announced for a series of concerts at Ludlow Castle next summer.

The singer, who rose to fame in 1988 with his song Never Gonna Give You Up, will perform at the Shropshire venue on 24 July.

He will be joined by the Lightning Seeds and more acts still to be announced. Other headliners for 2026 are Human League, Tom Grennan, The Streets, Richard Ashcroft, Scissor Sisters and Snow Patrol.

This is the fourth year the castle has staged a series of summer concerts, with the number of dates steadily increasing in number.

Rick Astley released four albums before retiring from the music industry in 1993, but returned seven years later. He released his ninth album in 2023.

Lightning Seeds are known for songs including Life of Riley, Pure, Marvellous and the football anthem Three Lions.

As with the other concerts, people living in the Ludlow are will get the first chance to buy tickets.
