A masked man who forced his way into a woman's home and raped her in what police have described as a "terrifying ordeal" has been jailed.
Jason Wren, 32, attacked the woman, who he did not know, at a property in Hastings, East Sussex, on 30 November 2024.
He was found guilty of rape, attempted rape and trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence in June.
Wren was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, extended for a further seven years, at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.
Wren was seen by witnesses acting suspiciously outside the property while the woman was home alone.
She was subjected to an "ordeal that lasted around 15 minutes", Sussex Police said.
He had grabbed the woman by the throat, bruising her neck, and told her not to make a noise otherwise he would hurt her, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
Wren, of Redmayne Drive, Hastings, then forced her upstairs, before raping her, telling her he would kill her if she refused, the CPS added.
Daniel Harrison, from the CPS, said: "Jason Wren is a dangerous man with a fascination for rape, who carefully planned his attack.
"Everyone should be able to feel secure in their own home, but Wren shattered that feeling of safety that night when he launched what can only be described as a horrendous attack."
