A 66-year-old man has been injured after being struck by a tram in Edinburgh.

Emergency crews closed off Constitution Street in Leith at about 13:35 following the incident near the stop at The Shore.

The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Tram services were suspended for about two hours before the road was reopened at about 15:15.

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Trams said staff had supported emergency responders at the scene.
