Football, basketball, netball and tennis will soon be played at two Surrey recreation grounds.

From Monday, work will begin to convert some tennis courts in Whyteleafe and Caterham into versatile multi-use games areas, said Tandridge District Council.

At Whyteleafe Recreation Ground, two tennis courts will be converted, while at Queens Park, just one court will change.

The courts are expected to be closed for about eight weeks while the work takes place.

A council spokesperson said: "These new facilities will provide more opportunities for people of all ages to stay active and enjoy a variety of sports."
