Details of government Aurigny review released

Further details of an independent review into Aurigny's recent flight disruption have been released.
The States Trading Supervisory Board [STSB] announced the review on Friday following a series of cancellations and delays by the airline.
STSB, which acts as shareholder of Aurigny on behalf of the States of Guernsey, has set out clear guidance on what it expects from the inquiry.
Two key areas for the review will assess the airline's future reliability and resilience and how its board members managed the airline's fleet transition.
As part of the review into future reliability, the inquiry will look at the airline's schedules, its ability to recover its timetable after disruption and if lifeline routes like Gatwick have priority.
The inquiry framework states that STSB's expectations of Aurigny should be taken into account, as well as fleet maintenance schedules and historic time keeping data compared to similar jurisdictions.
Negative impact
The airline has been transitioning to more ATR aircraft in its fleet as it aims to streamline its service.
This transition will be assessed in the review, focusing on which factors have had a negative impact on performance, how performance issues have been addressed and if key transition decisions were properly identified and considered,
The framework states that shareholder objectives, operational constraints, including time slots and airport opening times, and the oversight of the fleet transition process by the Aurigny board, should be taken into account.
STSB said the timing of the review would depend on how quickly someone with the necessary expertise could be appointed and how soon they could carry out the work.
