Date set for Adam Johnson jersey to be retired

The Nottingham Panthers ice hockey team will officially retire the jersey of player Adam Johnson, who died after being injured during a match.
Johnson, 29, suffered a fatal neck injury from a skate during a collision with Sheffield Steelers' Matt Petgrave on 28 October 2023.
The club announced last year that his number 47 jersey would be retired, and have now confirmed a special ceremony will take place ahead of their Elite League game against Fife Flyers on 14 December.
Panthers CEO Omar Pacha said: "This will be a very special night for all of us as we come together to retire Adam's number 47 jersey."
The club said Johnson would be remembered at the ceremony, with his family present.
His jersey will become the seventh to be officially retired by the club.
Mr Pacha said: "We were honoured to have Adam in Nottingham and not only was he a great talent on the ice, he was a fantastic person off the ice also.
"Adam made an impact on everyone who met him in the short time he was with us and he will forever be in our thoughts.
"We all want Adam's memory to live on for who he was as a person and what he contributed to the sport of ice hockey."
Earlier this month, a man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following Johnson's death had his bail extended by police.
