A woman has been arrested on suspicion of allowing the death of a vulnerable adult after the body of a man was found inside a house.

Officers had been alerted to concerns for the safety of a man on Fairbrook Drive in Birkenhead North, Merseyside, at about 11:50 BST on Monday.

Merseyside Police said a man in his 40s was found dead at the house and his death was being treated as unexplained.

The 37-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of child neglect.

Police said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
