Hundreds of runners decked out in red coats and fluffy hats have taken part in the annual Santa Dash in the Manx capital.

Organisers Isle of Man Bank said more than 300 participants had signed to up take on the mile-long (1.6km) course through the centre of Douglas.

Festive attire was not limited to Santa suits, with some entrants dressed as Christmas trees, crackers and puddings, and the Grinch even making as appearance among the runners.

Now in its 23rd year, Isle Listen, the Isle of Man Foodbank, the Children's Centre, Crossroads Care and the Samaritans are among those set to benefit from a £10,000 donation from the bank.

Several roads in the centre of Douglas were closed for a time to accommodate the runners.

Last year's event broke the attendance record with 401 participants taking part.

Participants in the run either pick their own charities to raise money for, or choose from a list of charities provided by the organiser.
