Firefighters are dealing with the remaining hotspots of a wildfire that they spent just over six hours tackling.

At about 21:00 BST on Monday, crews from Berkshire and Hampshire were called to the blaze between Paices Hill and Brimpton Common, near Reading. About four hectares of scrubland have been affected.

More than 20 firefighters from Tadley, Kingsclere, Fleet, Mortimer and Theale stations used hose reels, water bowsers, jets and 4×4 vehicles to bring the fire under control.

Hampshire fire service said a crew would return for a follow-up inspection later as a precaution.
