A cannabis farm has been uncovered after a house fire sent plumes of smoke drifting over east Leeds.

Firefighters were called to the property on Selby Road in the Halton Moor area at about 09:25 GMT on Thursday.

After West Yorkshire Police was alerted, officers found the property contained a cannabis farm.

A force spokesman said nobody was believed to have been injured in the blaze, with investigations continuing.

The fire service said crews from Leeds, Killingbeck and Castleford were sent to the fire, with about 60% of the property engulfed.
