Man killed in 'distressing' stab attack

A man has been stabbed to death in an attack in Manchester.

It happened on Whitburn Road in Wythenshawe at about 20:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Emergency services attempted to save the 47-year-old victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Greater Manchester Police has not reported any arrests.

Det Insp Helen Bagnall said the attack would be "distressing for the community" and asked anyone with information to come forward.
