Bus operators in Nottingham and the wider county will offer discounted group travel tickets during the school holidays.

The scheme, offering up to a third off the price of selected group bus tickets, will run from Wednesday until 31 August.

Operators involved in the offer include Nottingham City Transport, trentbarton, CT4N and Stagecoach East Midlands.

Derek Higton, an executive director for Nottinghamshire County Council, said the authority was "pleased" to offer the scheme for a second year.

The discount scheme was established by a partnership between the county council, Nottingham City Council, and local bus operators.

Mr Higton added: "With four weeks of school holidays ahead, we know that many families will be planning days out across Nottinghamshire, so there's never been a better time to travel by bus."

It is hoped the discount will make it easier for people to visit places across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire at a lower cost.

The county council has published a full list of tickets and the discounts, external.

Passengers are advised to check ticket terms and conditions with operators.
