An eight-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a collision between a motorhome and a car, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police officers were called to Penfound Gardens in Bude at about 15:15 BST on Saturday.

The local boy, who was walking when the collision happened, was flown to Bristol Children's Hospital, they said.

The force says a 68-year-old woman from Launceston, who was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving, has been released under investigation.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene and officers have thanked the public for their patience.

Police have asked anyone with dashcam footage or information about the incident to come forward.
