Police have confirmed a 77-year-old man died after a fire at a residential property.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service crews were called to the blaze on Ferozeshah Road in Devizes, Wiltshire, at 18:53 GMT on Saturday.
Firefighters advised nearby residents to keep their windows and doors closed as the flames caused a "significant smoke plume" to rise.
Wiltshire Police say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A police spokesperson said: "Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 77-year-old man sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"Our thoughts are with his family, and we would request that their privacy is respected at this most difficult time."
