A 45-year-old man has been charged with burglary after thousands of pounds worth of goods were taken from a Guernsey supermarket in May, police said.

Officers said about £3,000 worth of goods including cigarettes and alcohol were taken from the Admiral Park branch of Iceland on 23 May.

Police thanked the public after an appeal for information resulted in "useful information being provided to detectives".

The man is set to appear in magistrates court on 7 October.
