Scarecrow festival 'is all about the puns'

A three-day scarecrow festival that has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity has been celebrating its 20th anniversary with an array of wacky creations.
For two decades, residents of Flamstead in Hertfordshire have got as creative as possible and made many characters out of straw.
Catherine Stackhouse, who this year turned rock bank Oasis into "Crowasis", said her interactive scenes were "all about the puns". Last year she put together "Guns and Crowes" and before that she made "Freddie Scarecrowy" and "Brian Hay".
Nicky Sanders, another resident, said it took her a week and a half to create her own version of The Wizard Of Oz, and every year she "gives it a good go".
The three-day event finishes on Sunday.
