Mobility scooter rider seriously injured in crash

A man was seriously injured in a crash between his mobility scooter and a car, police said.

Emergency services were called to Kings Ripton Road in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire at about 18:00 BST on Friday.

The rider of the black mobility scooter, a man in his 50s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital after the collision with a blue Volkswagen Polo estate.

Its driver, a woman in her 20s, was uninjured and remained at the scene. Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
