Arrest after cyclist, 25, dies

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a cyclist was hit by a HGV truck.
It happened at the Tower Road and Birkenhead Road roundabout in Seacombe, Wirral, at about 07:35 BST on Tuesday.
The cyclist, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Merseyside Police said a 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is in police custody.
Police said the driver of the HGV truck stopped at the scene after the cyclist was hit.
Road closures which were in place have now reopened.
Det Seg Andy Roper said the family of the man who died is being supported by specially trained liaison officers, and an investigation is under way.
Anyone who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is being urged to contact the force.
