A road in Exmouth was closed as police dealt with a lorry that has crashed into scaffolding on a building.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it had been called to the incident on Fore Street at about 22:20 BST on Monday.

To ensure safety of the structure, the lorry had to remain in the same position overnight until it could be safely recovered.

Police had said the recovery work would take place on Tuesday morning and the road would remain closed until that was done, but at 19:17 Inrix traffic reporting system said the road had been opened.
