A professional wrestler has returned home after six months spent touring in the USA.

Zak Bevis, who goes by wrestling name Zak Knight, said he had been climbing the "ladder" while travelling with company All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

The 32-year-old is part of the Norwich wrestling dynasty dramatised in the 2019 comedy film Fighting with My Family.

Bevis is due to return to the States in the next couple of weeks.

"The sacrifices are very real," said Bevis, who told BBC Radio Norfolk he would like to appear at Wembley and be "one of the greatest of all time".

"Anyone that really pushes themselves into a job that wants to climb the ladder realises that it comes with a lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifices and a lot of dedication."

The wrestler shared a video on X, external formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, showing the moment he was reunited with his children.

"It is no secret that being a professional wrestler you are always looking for the opportunities... me coming back last week was the first time the kids are going to get their dad as a whole," he explained.

The video was seen and shared by professional wrestlers including Mercedes Moné, Nia Jax and his sister Saraya, who is also signed to AEW.

'On top of the world'

Bevis said the support he received online motivated him even more to achieve his dream of going to Wembley

Despite crossing the Atlantic, he said being from a council estate kept him "humble".

"Right now I'm on top of the world, but I've also felt what it's like to be at rock bottom," he said.

"I would love nothing more than my family to walk down the ring with me like we did last year for Saraya... Wembley is a must I have to do it."

He said the support he received online had motivated him even more.

"I feel like I literally have Great Britain on my back at the moment... I feel like I have more eyes on me than ever."
