Polls close in Blackpool South by-election

Nine candidates are standing in the by-election

Polls have now closed for the Blackpool South by-election.

It was prompted by the resignation of former Conservative MP Scott Benton, with nine candidates standing for the seat.

Voting stations opened at 07:00 BST and closed at 22:00, with results expected early on Friday morning.

There are also elections in 107 local authorities across England, as well as 11 mayoral races.
