Man charged with rape and child murder attempt

A man has been charged with raping a girl under the age of 13 and attempting to murder a 10-year-old boy.

The boy was attacked at cliffs at Ovingdean near Brighton, police said.

The single rape charge relates to alleged offences in Oxfordshire between March 2017 and September 2022, detectives added.

Anthony Stocks, 53, of Iceni Close in Goring, Oxfordshire, was remanded in custody by Oxford magistrates to appear at the city's crown court on 8 December.
