Part of a main route through Bournemouth is set to close for emergency sewer repairs during the town's busy tourist season.

Wessex Water said the A35 eastbound between Manor Road and Boscombe Spa Road would be closed for up to eight weeks following a sewer collapse.

An official diversion route via the A338 will be signposted for motorists.

The company said: “Due to our sewer collapsing and the location, we have no choice but to close the A35 eastbound in order to carry out this essential repair safely."
