Third teenager charged after 16-year-old stabbed

A third teenager has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.

Wiltshire Police were called to the New Road area of Royal Wootton Bassett at 21:30 BST on Monday.

The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old defendant, from Royal Wootton Bassett, has now been charged with possession of a knife blade in a public place, grievous bodily harm with intent and attempted wounding with intent.

He pleaded guilty to all three charges at Swindon Youth Court this morning and was released on bail until his next court appearance on July 15.

Two other teenagers, aged 15 and 17, have also been charged with possession of a knife blade in a public place and grievous bodily harm with intent.

The 15-year-old, from Royal Wootton Bassett, pleaded guilty and was released on bail until 15 July when he will reappear at court.

The 17-year-old, from Swindon, did not enter a plea and was remanded to youth detention accommodation until 10 June when he will reappear at court.

None of the defendants can be named for legal reasons.
