Crowds gathered for the annual Dragon Boat Festival in Salford at the weekend

Dragon boats have raced in Salford Quays in front of thousands of spectators.

The annual Dragon Boat Festival took place over the weekend in Salford Quays as crowds lined the water for the two-day event.

There were also cultural events with traditional dancing as well as singers for the 10th year of the festival.

Dragon boat racing originated in China 2,300 years ago.
