Cannabis worth an estimated €768,000 (£650,000) has been seized by Irish police after two search operations in County Louth.

Three men, aged in their 30s, 40s and 50s, were arrested after searches in Castlebellingham and Dundalk on Monday.

The search in Castlebellingham led to the discovery of suspected cannabis plants with a value of around €80,000 (£68,300) and 28kg of cannabis herb worth €580,000 (£495,500).

A second search was carried out in Dundalk, where suspected cannabis plants and cannabis herb with a combined value of €108,000 (£92,300) were seized.
