A man has been charged with murder over a fatal stabbing in a town.
Cheshire Police said Lloyd Velasquez, 34, died in hospital after being attacked in Ellesmere Port at about 20:20 BST on Wednesday.
Ben Ruddock, 19, of Kendal Drive in Ellesmere Port, has been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Sunday.
The force said two men, aged 20 and 21, who were both arrested on suspicion of murder remain in police custody.
Appealing for information, Ch Supt Jon Betts said it was believed to be an "isolated" attack.
“I understand the concern that this is likely to cause, but we would like to assure residents that this type of incident is incredibly rare in Cheshire," he said.
"There will be extra patrols conducted in the area to provide reassurance and anyone with any concerns is urged to speak to an officer."
A force representative said it was believed Mr Velasquez was attacked by three men "who were known to him".
They added that his family were being supported by specialist officers.
