A group of seven people were escorted by police off a Bristol flight to Malaga after being disruptive, EasyJet have confirmed.

The scenes unfolded at Bristol Airport on Saturday when a pilot was forced to stop the plane shortly before take-off and return to its stand while the group were removed from the aircraft.

The commotion delayed the flight while the passenger's luggage was also offloaded. It was then able to continue on its scheduled journey.

An EasyJet spokesperson said: “Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard."

They added: “Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time."
