Book festival plans 'biggest party in the Borders'

The Borders Book Festival has unveiled its programme for its 21st edition this summer., external
The event will be held from 13 to 16 June at its "spiritual home" of the Harmony Garden in Melrose.
Among those taking part will be Janey Godley, Clive Myrie, David Nicholls and Louise Minchin.
The festival will also see the announcement of the winner of the prestigious Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction.
Festival director Alistair Moffat described it as the "biggest party in the Borders".
He said: "This year sees our programme again offer something for every taste: whether that's literary fiction, comedy, sport, politics, health, current affairs, history or travel – all of life is here."
Scott Hamilton of Scottish Borders Council said it was delighted to support the event once more.
"The Scottish Borders has a great portfolio of successful home-grown strategic events, with the Borders Book Festival being one of the biggest," he said.
"Its continued success has a positive economic impact in our region, as well as bringing people to the Borders helping to showcase what this area has to offer."
