Motorists warned about eight-week roadworks

Motorists are being warned about roadworks in Stoke-on-Trent which are due to begin later this month.
The city council said work would start on Monday 26 February on the A34 in Trent Vale.
The works are expected to last eight weeks.
They will involve installing pedestrian crossings and improving the operation of the junction at Godwin Way and Newcastle Road, the council said.
A diversion route will be in place during overnight closures, which will be in place to enable carriageway surfacing and road marking to take place.
Deputy council leader Amjid Wazir commented: “These road improvement works will help ease traffic congestion along this route and make it safer for pedestrians.”
