A 58-year-old woman from Wolverhampton has been charged with drug smuggling offences following a seizure at Heathrow Airport.

Officers found 10kg (1.5 stone) of cocaine in the linings of a suit carrier, and estimated it would have had a UK street value of about £800,000.

The woman was stopped when she arrived on a flight from Jamaica on 23 December.

After being interviewed by National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators, she was charged with importing class A drugs.

She has been remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on 25 January.
