Would-be robber overwhelmed by passers-by

Eyewitnesses have described the moment a would-be robber was overwhelmed by passers-by as he attacked a delivery driver in Leeds.
West Yorkshire Police said the driver had been targeted outside Elford Grove Post Office, in Harehills, on Monday.
One man who saw the incident said two groups of people had come running to the victim's aid, fighting off the assailant and holding him until police arrived.
A police spokesperson said the driver was not injured, while the alleged attacked was taken to hospital where he was later arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of offensive weapon.
One man, who runs a fruit and veg store nearby, said he had seen "around 20 to 30 people" running down the street past his shop.
He said the scene was "like something out of a movie".
"The (driver) could have been killed," he said. "It's not right is it?"
"I've been here 20 years and there hasn't been an incident like that while I've been here.
"Of course you're going to be scared, because it's violence."
He said the fact so many people came to the alleged victim's aid showed community spirit was strong and that "people round here work together".
Another man, who did not want to be named, said: "I said to the police 'if it wasn't for the community, what would have happened?'.
"On this road there is a lot of drug dealers. You feel that you are not safe. What are they going to do next?"
