Plans have been submitted for a big wheel and adventure golf course to remain on the site of a former seaside theatre until 2027.

Operator Observation Wheel UK has applied to keep the 105ft (32m) tall wheel and 18-hole attraction in Foreshore Road, in Scarborough.

The wheel was first installed on the site, which was formerly home to the Futurist Theatre, in 2019

North Yorkshire has not set a date for deciding on the plan, which is currently open for public comment.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the new proposal says that following the demolition of the Futurist Theatre, stabilisation and resurfacing work took place.

A previous plan approved the wheel and gold course to remain on the site until this October.

Environmental health officers at the planning authority said they had no concerns regarding the proposal.
