Man hit with chair and knocked out in pub fight

A man was knocked out after being hit with a chair during a fight at a North Yorkshire pub, police said.

The victim had been at the Royal Oak in Tadcaster on Sunday when the attack happened at just after 21:00 GMT.

North Yorkshire Police said the venue would have been busy following the Leeds United match and the violent incident had been discussed on social media.

Appealing for witnesses to come forward, the force said a man had arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in connection with the incident and released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
