Work to fix drains after homes flooded delayed

Residents reported water reached into properties, driveways and gardens

Planned works to tackle drainage issues which led to homes, gardens and driveways being flooded have been pushed back.
Cheltenham residents have been calling for the work to be done in Glebe Road, Prestbury, after properties were flooded in September 2024.
Gloucestershire Highways were due to start work but councillor Stan Smith said it had been "temporarily postponed" due to "unforeseen issues with the existing infrastructure".
Gloucestershire County Council says it is now working on a new design for the works and will schedule a start date as soon as it is agreed.
The issue was reported to the council via Fix My Street, the online system and app used to report and manage local street problems.
Water was reported to have reached into properties, driveways and gardens.
Residents were also concerned fresh water valves into the properties were filled with dirty water and oil was present in the flood water.
At the time, people living on Glebe road said: "This issue has now gotten to a point where health could be a concern and this has been going on for five years since I've been living here and before me."
Council leader Lisa Spivey said "we understand residents' concerns" and the authority was "working on a solution".
She thanked residents for their patience.
