The event is one of many being held around East Yorkshire on Sunday, including in Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Goole and Pocklington.

In Hull, a number of roads will be closed between 06:00 and 13:00, including parts of Ferensway and Paragon Street. Others will be closed at 11:30, including Carr Lane. Full details are available on the Hull City Council website, external.

A second service will follow on Tuesday, Armistice Day, at the Cenotaph, beginning at 10:45.

The Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Cheryl Payne, said: "We will remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

"Thousands attend the annual service in our city, and it is good to see so many people coming out to pay their respects."
