A 19-year-old woman has denied arson charges after a fire destroyed a house in July.

The house in Protheroe Street, Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf, belonging to Carol Ford, was badly damaged, while other nearby homes were evacuated and a rest centre was opened for residents. Five properties were affected by the blaze which broke out in the early hours of 28 July.

Storm Truman, from Weston-super-Mare, appeared by video link at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday.

She denied charges of arson with intent to endanger life and arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Judge Paul Hobson told Storm Truman that she would stand trial with two co-defendants on 26 January 2026.

An application for bail will be heard next week.
