A member of a cheerleading team that has won its category of a global tournament said the whole experience had been "just spectacular".
Coventry Dynamite's Lady Ops under-19s team picked up the All Stars World Championships award for extra small groups in Orlando, Florida, after competing on Thursday and Friday.
One team member, Tallulah, 15, said the group had fought hard to present "one of the best routines possible".
Her mum Claire said "every parent was crying on Friday," adding "even grown men were crying for their kids".
Clel, her dad, said: "Beating the Americans in their own back yard was never going to be easy.
"This is absolutely massive not just for our family but Willenhall and Coventry."

Holly Titmus, one of the team coaches, said the win had not sunk in yet
The 15-year-old said that it had been hard revising for her upcoming GCSEs as well as training for the competition, but the regime had put her in a "good mindset and routine".
Her mum added that all the girls had shown "remarkable courage and determination" in winning the competition.
One of the team coaches, Holly Titmus, said she had just been excited for the girls to experience a world championship competition.
But she was "overwhelmed" when the team came top.
"I still don't think it's sunk in yet," she added.
The Coventry Dynamite programme is one of the biggest in the UK, she said, and was still growing with almost 500 members.
Bringing the win back to Coventry "just makes me so proud," she added.
Cheerleaders from Coventry Dynamites last year made it to the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent.
