A crematorium chapel will host a special memorial service in the run-up to Christmas.

The site at Worcester Crematorium will hold the event on 12 December as an opportunity for people to remember loved ones lost over the past year.

The event is free but ticketed, as only 105 people can be accommodated at the service, which is open to people of all faiths and none.

Sian Redmond from Worcester City Council’s Bereavement Services said: “Christmas is a time of celebration, but if you have lost a loved one in recent months it can be difficult to face seasonal festivities without them.

“This memorial service will give people the chance to share the experience of grieving for a loved one and also celebrate that person’s life, in the company of others who have had a similar experience,” she said.
