A woman was found dead in bed after sustaining traumatic head injuries while her husband was discovered hanging in the property's garage, an inquest has heard.
The bodies of David, 80, and Zena Hoskins, 77, were located by police at the home in Milton, near Abingdon, at about 19:00 BST on 15 September.
Thames Valley Police previously said it was not looking for anyone else in relation to the case.
The inquest was adjourned with a full hearing to be held in Oxford on 18 May 2026.
Milton Parish Council said it was "shocked and saddened" to hear of the deaths, describing the couple as "longstanding, popular figures within the Milton community".
"Zena was twice chair of the parish council and only recently stepped down from the council to retire," it added.
Police previously said: "The family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this extremely difficult time. Our thoughts remain with them."
