An inquest is set to open into the "unexplained deaths" of two people at a property in Oxfordshire.

The bodies of David and Zena Hoskins, aged 80 and 77 respectively, were found at the property in Milton, near Abingdon, at about 19:00 BST on 15 September.

Thames Valley Police confirmed it was not looking for anyone in relation to what happened, and that it was preparing a file for the coroner in relation to the deaths. No arrests have been made.

Oxfordshire Coroner, Mr Nicholas Graham, is set to open their inquests at Oxford Coroner's Court on Thursday.

Thames Valley Police said: "The family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this extremely difficult time.

"Our thoughts remain with them."

Milton Parish Council said it was "shocked and saddened" to hear of the deaths, describing the couple as "longstanding, popular figures within the Milton community".

"Zena was twice chair of the parish council and only recently stepped down from the council to retire," it added.
