Seven people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the shoulder.

A fight involving a number of people believed to be carrying knives was reported at about16:30 GMT on Sunday.

Officers arrived at Falmouth Street, Middlesbrough, where they found a 24-year-old man had suffered a stab wound.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment and has since been released. Another man received an injury to his finger.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Seven males have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time."

The force has launched an appeal for information.
